Career Testing with Feedback
Counseling
PhilPsyCor conducts Career Testing with Feedback
Counseling service. Career testing involves assessment of
personality, interests and professional aptitudes.
This technique is based on the premise that if
individuals pursue a course that they find interesting, and if they
work in an environment that is compatible with their personal
characteristics, they will likely be more satisfied, driven and more
productive.
Our Career Report and Feedback Counseling explores
the following areas:
-
Preferences, interests, unique gifts and work
style of the individual;
-
Work environments and tasks that he would find
satisfying;
-
Specific occupations that offer good possibilities
for exploration (including a description of the tasks and skills
involved in each occupation);
-
Strategies for career development; and
-
Tactics for using personality preferences to stay
motivated during the career exploration process.
More In-depth, Specialized
Testing Service
Ordinarily, our test battery covers general mental
ability, applicable aptitudes, and personality adjustment with
particular focus on work attitudes and interpersonal skills.
However, owing to the sensitive nature of the some jobs (i.e.
positions that entail working abroad), we recommend that applicants
be given more in-depth testing.
This would allow us to have a more reliable basis
for assessing their emotional functioning, which is deemed critical
to the special nature of their jobs. Thus, in addition to the usual
intelligence and personality battery of tests, we will be including
projective techniques, aimed at uncovering latent tendencies,
internal conflicts, and the capacity to handle stressful situations,
among other things. Especially for those who will likely handle
special assignments like taking care of children and elders,
propensities towards aggression and attitudes toward authority
figures will also be tapped.
Testing is further supplemented with individual
interviews. |
